Dissident harassed by political police

CIEGO DE AVILA, November 30 (Juan Carlos González Leyva, FCDH) —A police officer locally known as Amaury threatened dissident Emilio Martín Morales, vice president of the Cuban Foundation for Human Rights.

"Who is naming me in the complaints broadcast by the Cuban Foundation for Human Rights?" he said, adding that he would beat up whoever it was when he caught him.

Another officer, a State Security major known as Serafín, expelled Martín Morales when he attempted to visit a dissident serving a 25 year sentence in the Morón prison.
